About

Hi! I'm Caryn. I started Paws for Peace, LLC because I love animals and teaching and wanted to find a way to combine them both. I have dedicated many years of my life to rescuing animals and teaching kids about the importance of treating all living things with respect and kindness. Animals, and their stories, provide a safe and fun way for children to strengthen their prosocial skills. My goal is to help build a world filled with tolerance and respect for others while embracing our differences.

Let me introduce you to my family! My husband Matt and I live in Bethesda, MD with our twins, Ethan and Sam, 3 dogs and a ferret. All three of our dogs have been rescued. Peanut (the white one to the right) and Ollie (the black poodle) are both blind. Ruffles (the gray one) came to us in desperate need of love and attention. He is coming out of his shell more and more each day. The 3 of them run around stealing each other's bones and peeing on each other's doggie beds all day long. :0 My son's ferret, Archie, likes to come up and get into the mix with the dogs too so it can be a zoo here. We have gotten to spend a lot of time together over the past year- which is one of the positive aspects of this pandemic.
